These terms apply when you use this site or ask Nova Preceptor to help with a clinical placement. By using the site or our service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside your NSU program's own requirements.

The service
Nova Preceptor is an independent placement service for Nova Southeastern University (NSU) nursing students. We search for preceptors and clinical sites near a student's home that fit the student's NSU course, prepare preceptor and site information for the student to give NSU's clinical coordinator, and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.
NSU does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official NSU statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Nova Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.
NSU's role and final approval
NSU's clinical coordinators confirm that each preceptor meets NSU's requirements for clinical supervision and that each site provides the appropriate clinical experience, and NSU gives the final approval in every case. NSU's catalogs, Nursing Student Handbook, graduate clinical guide, courses and faculty set the rules for your program.
Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from NSU's current requirements, NSU's requirements apply.
No promise of placement, approval or dates
We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that NSU will approve a site or preceptor we identify, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.
Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after NSU's approval.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for meeting NSU's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:
- notifying your clinical coordinator of your preceptor and site in time and submitting the documentation NSU asks for, including DISA CastleBranch items, before clinical hours begin;
- holding an active, unrestricted RN license that is current in the jurisdiction of your practicum, including a Florida license where NSU or Florida law requires one;
- completing background checks, drug screens, health clearance, immunizations and any site requirements before patient contact;
- completing clinical hours weekly, logging them accurately and following each site's rules;
- staying in contact with your clinical coordinator, course faculty and program director;
- giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.
Fees
Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and NSU's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee. NSU's catalog makes students responsible for transportation to clinical agencies.

They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and NSU's rules can change. Check your course in Canvas, NSU's graduate clinical guide, your clinical coordinator and your program director before relying on any detail.

Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your inquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.
Acceptable use
Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Nova Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of NSU, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Each revision carries a new date at the top of the page. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page or the chat.

NSU lets you name your own preceptor. We make sure you have one, close to home and in time.
