NSU nursing programs and the clinical hours each one needs
Nova Southeastern's Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing runs three nurse practitioner tracks (Family, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Psychiatric-Mental Health) as an MSN, as postgraduate certificates and inside the BSN to DNP, plus a post-master's DNP and two bachelor's routes. Each guide below covers the courses, the clinical hours and when the preceptor for each clinical course needs to be named.

What NSU offers now
The current NSU catalogs list the MSN APRN in three concentrations, the matching postgraduate APRN certificates, the BSN to DNP with the same three concentrations, the post-master's DNP, the DNP to PhD and the PhD in Nursing, and the Entry and Accelerated BSN. NSU's current pages and catalogs no longer list an RN to BSN, an RN to MSN or a non-APRN MSN such as nursing education or leadership, so those programs have no guide here.
Clinical hours are the thread that ties the programs together: 855 per MSN track in the 2026-27 catalog, 1,455 in the BSN to DNP, 600 project hours in the post-master's DNP and 750 computed clock hours in the BSN. The clinical hours guide compares them in one place.

Is NSU's MSN APRN online?
NSU's current program pages say the FNP, AGACNP and PMHNP tracks are now in an online format, with on-campus intensives: three for FNP and AGACNP and one for PMHNP. The 2025-26 handbook still describes a hybrid format, so check your admission materials. See what changed in 2026-27.
Does NSU still offer an RN to BSN?
Not in its current sources. The bachelor's index lists only the Entry and Accelerated BSN, and the old RN to BSN pages no longer load. An RN with a non-nursing bachelor's degree can enter the MSN APRN through the NSG 5000B transition course, offered in the fall only.
Which NSU programs need a preceptor I can name myself?
The APRN programs: the MSN tracks, the postgraduate certificates and the clinical part of the BSN to DNP, under the handbook's two-semester notice. DNP project courses need a practice site. BSN clinicals are placed by NSU within 75 miles of your campus.
How many clinical hours is NSU's FNP program?
The 2026-27 catalog lists 190, 190, 95, 95 and 285 hours for the five FNP clinical courses, which adds up to 855. The older 2025-26 plan came to 765. The FNP postgraduate certificate shows 765 on NSU's page. See the FNP track.
